HeritageQuest Online	HeritageQuest Online provides libraries with a unique, growing collection of research materials for tracing family history and American culture. Beginning or professional genealogists can now use this powerful online library, with original page images for all documents, from the convenience of their home or at the library. An ongoing project (new content is added regularly), HeritageQuest Online will grow to encompass the Periodical Source Index (PERSI), Freedman’s Bank Records, Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Index, and additional materials.
	eLibrary Search current full text magazines, newspapers, pictures, maps, and TV & Radio transcripts through a simple search box. Includes the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Roanoke Times & World News, Washington Post, Washington Times.
SIRS Discoverer	A database designed with the young researcher in mind; offers a simple subject tree approach to information and a student workbook that can help students learn how to find information through SIRS Remote Access: Login- VC00140H and password-24301

A committee of public library staff selected ten databases from the Gale Group. Includes databases listed below
Health & Wellness Resource Center	Use this Resource Center to find magazines, journals, newspapers, definitions, directories, and information on: Fitness, Pregnancy, Medicine, Nutrition, Diseases, Public Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Alcohol and Drug abuse, Prescription Drugs, Herbal remedies, and alternative or complementary treatments, etc. Included are links to diet, cancer, and health assessment sites as well as government databases.
Biography Resource Center	This database combines award-winning biographies from respected Gale Group sources. Biography Resource Center also includes full-text articles from hundreds of periodicals. Search for people based on one or more personal facts such as birth and death year, nationality, ethnicity, occupation or gender, or combine criteria to create a highly-targeted custom search.
	Biography Resource Center: African Americans offers nearly 30,000 narrative and thumbnail biographies about notable African Americans from the respected Thomson Gale sources available in the Biography Resource Center. Enhancing the reference content are full-text periodical articles, websites, and recent update news briefs. Search on name, personal facts such as birth/death dates and place, occupation, and gender, or combine criteria to create a targeted custom search.
Business and Company Resource Center	Business and Company Resource Center is a fully integrated resource bringing together company profiles, brand information, rankings, investment reports, company histories, chronologies and periodicals. Search this database to find detailed company and industry news and information.
Gale Virtual Reference Library	Gale Virtual Reference Library is a database of encyclopedias, almanacs, and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research. These reference materials once were accessible only in the library, but now you can access them online from the library or remotely 24/7. Because each library creates its own eBook collection, the content you see may vary if you use the database at different libraries (your school, your public library, or your office)
Legal Trac	LegalTrac provides indexing for 1,427 of the most highly regarded legal publications, 123 of which are full text. These include major law reviews, legal newspapers, law specialty publications, bar association journals, and international legal journals. Use this database to find articles in all major law reviews, law journals, specialty law and bar association journals and legal newspapers. Included are articles on Federal and State Cases, Laws and Regulations, Legal Practice, and Taxation. Also included are: British Commonwealth, European Union and International Law.
Kids Edition	Formerly PrimaryTOM, this periodical database is designed for elementary school students, with easy access to full-text magazines, newspapers and reference books for information on current events, the arts, science, popular culture, health, people, government, history, sports and more.
Kids InfoBits	Kids InfoBits meets the research needs of students in Kindergarten through Grade 5. It features a developmentally appropriate, visually graphic interface, a subject-based topic tree search and full-text, age-appropriate, curriculum-related magazine, newspaper and reference content for information on current events, the arts, science, health, people, government, history, sports and more.
What Do I Read Next?	What Do I Read Next? includes over 100,000 recommended titles, more than 60,000 plot summaries, and awards information from 562 awards, all to help users uncover new reading adventures, find long-remembered favorites, and discover award-winning titles. Search by genre, subject, author, title, series, and more. A monthly highlights page allows the user to see selections of award winners, upcoming titles, and titles that revolve around different subjects each month.
Military & Intelligence Database	The Military and Intelligence Database periodical list has been hand-selected by Gale editors to meet needs of military personnel. With more than 500 titles and more than 7 million articles (80% full-text), searchers are sure to find answers to their reference questions
Religion & Philosophy	InfoTrac Religion and Philosophy features a custom selection of more than 250 magazines and academic journals covering religion and the related areas of philosophy, archaeology and anthropology. Coverage begins as early as 1980 for indexing and 1983 for full-text of some of the periodicals
Computer Database	Use this database to find computer-related product introductions, news and reviews in areas such as hardware, software, electronics, engineering, communications and the application of technology.
Professional Collection	More than 250 full-text educational periodicals and journals covering arts, psychology, adolescent issues, curriculum, sports, law, technology and more.

Newspapers in Virginia Database	A catalog of nearly 6,000 individual Virginia newspaper titles housed in repositories in Virginia. Issue-specific holdings information and format availability is included for each institution. This project is on-going.
